Reflection

Only a few students, 3 of them confuse with the calculation because they do not understand the formula. Teacher gives three examples of problem involving calculations and finally students are able to apply the formula well in calculations. They also use their prior knowledge in order to solve the problems given.

Students finish on doing Paper 2 questions for chapter Rate of Reaction. Teacher discusses with students for all the structure questions and discovered that most of students did not draw the graph. Only about 10 of them do it and able to obtain the answer especially for calculation which involved the factors that affect the rate of reaction. Students have no problems in writing the relationship between the factors and apply to the situation given. Teacher advises students to do the graph therefore they are able to understand better.

At first, 7 of students do not understand the concept of strong acid, weak acid, strong alkalis and weak alkalis. They do not notice the differences among them through the chemical equation. Teacher explains several times by using three differences examples for each of the acid and alkali to make them understand better. Finally, students are able to describe all of them. Teacher gives exercises in the textbook to evaluate their understanding.

Students continue their exercises on past year question year 2005. Half of them already finish with the objectives questions. So, they continue with structure questions on Paper 2. The rest of the students still did not finish yet their objectives question and they proceed with the question. Teacher monitors and guides them during the class.
