Reflection

Before the lesson start, teacher recalls back their knowledge by discuss the term electronegativity and electropositivity regarding Group 1 elements and Group 17 elements. All of students understand well and only then teacher proceeds with elements in period 3. At first, about 10 of the students do not understand the trend of atomic radius because they get confuse with the trend of size in the Group 17 elements. Teacher reinforces again by comparing both trend and use analogy to make them understand better. Students have no problems with lesson of transition elements, their properties and uses. Students do exercises to evaluate their understanding.

Reflection

All of students have no problem to identify the process of oxidation and reduction. They also able to define the meaning of redox reaction. Teacher also discovers that students have no problems to identify the oxidizing agent and reducing agent. They find it is easy when define redox reactions in terms of loss or gains of oxygen as well as loss or gains of hydrogen. But during activity time, teacher discovers that student do not really master in applying their previous knowledge on electron transfer in identifying the oxidation and reduction process. They get confuse and difficult to find which one is oxidation and reduction process. Teacher monitors and guides them. Only two groups are able to present today. Other presentations will proceed on the next lesson. Teacher has to give more exercises since most of the students do not really master the redox reaction in terms of electron transfer. Today's objectives only achieved about 90%.

5 of the students do not really understand today's lesson. They always relate the term fat with the body size. After discussion they understand better and able to differentiate between saturated and unsaturated fat. Most of the students are able to give examples of saturated and unsaturated fat. They also able to contribute ideas regarding the effects of excessive consumption of fat to human health. Teacher asks them to do exercises in workbook to evaluate their understanding.

Therefore, teacher repeats the explanation by using diagram for the coagulation of latex to make them understand better. After that, teacher asks students to explain back, and they are able to do so. Reflection
Today's lesson postpone to the next class since half of the students not in the class due to some reasons. Therefore teacher continues with discussion on exercises and asks students to do Paper 2 question from the workbook. Students do the work and discuss among group members. Teacher monitors and guides them during exercises time. After discussion, teacher discovers that almost all of the students do not do revision at home because they already forget everything that has been learned. Teacher takes initiatives by give more exercises to be completed by them.

5 of the students seems very weak because they still do not remember the previous lesson when asks by teacher. Teacher has to reinforce them back only then teacher are able to show the differences among Group 18, 1 and 17 elements. The rest of students show improvements and give positive respond during lesson. They are able to give appropriate answers when ask by teacher. They also able to explain the concept of reactivity for Group 1 and 17 elements for comparison. Teacher gives exercises to evaluate their understanding.
